How do travel agents get paid? Will I be charged exta or will my accomodations have an extra fee?

We are paid by the resorts, we do not charge a service fee.  

Many resorts have price parity, the cost is the same whether you book through us, directly with the resort, or with an online booking engine.  

The difference between using a travel agent is that we help you plan a stress-free vacation without the hassle of going it alone. 

Why should I book with you instead of an online booking site, or direct with a resort?

With us, you get exceptional personal assistance before, during, and after your vacation. 

Budget is important and we strive to get your dream vacation within the budget you've set for it. There's no pressure to go above and beyond what you're comfortable with. You can't enjoy your vacation when you're stressed out about paying for it.

You also benefit from our extensive personal connections which carry a certain gravitas when needing anything addressed. We have an easier time getting you perks (like getting your room upgraded)—it's easier for us to get a "yes" because we work with them often.

Will I pay more for a vacation if I book through you than an online booking site?

No. We have access to all the same pricing for resorts as the online booking sites do and we can price-match online booking engine pricing when comparing apples to apples. 

In many cases, we can find discounts and other promotional offerings that are not offered to the general public.

Do I have to pay you up front for my vacation?

No! The deposit requirements are set by the resorts and the tour operators we book through. Deposit rates vary based on the resort or package you select, and the time you are traveling.  

How long does it take to get a passport?

It is currently taking up to 18 weeks for routine service and up to 12 weeks for expedited service.  You can check the current turn around on passports and check the status of your passport application here: U.S. Passports (state.gov)

Are there COVID testing requirements in my destination?

There are many different requirements for different destinations.  We here at Hargrove Travel will help with any requirements needed for your vacation.  There are a lot of destinations with no requirements, we keep up with current protocols for all locations.  Here is a website that gives all requirements based on location. Can I go on a cruise to Alaska or the Caribbean without a passport?

Technically, yes, you may be able to cruise round trip from a US port to your destination. However, we must always highly recommend that you carry a valid passport. If something went wrong, like a health issue, and you have to be taken to a medical facility, you may encounter challenges re-entering the USA.

Can I get married in a country other than the country I am a citizen of?

Yes, you may get married in selected countries in which you are not a citizen. However, there are certain requirements you must meet. Most countries have a residence requirement, and the length of time varies. We are happy to coordinate a marriage ceremony and destination wedding. Let us handle the details and take that stress off your shoulders.

I have to cancel a trip I booked with Hargrove Travel, what do I do?

We understand that cancellations happen, which is why we highly suggest that you purchase travel protection with your tour reservation. As soon as you know that you have to cancel, please call the office at 817-939-4256 or 817-374-2333. We will submit your claim and provide you the information you need to return with your paperwork to the travel protection company.

Most travel protection policies cover cancellations for medical reasons for you, your travel-mate, or immediate family, and for unforeseen circumstances while you are traveling. If you have any questions about your travel protections policy, please call the office for assistance. 

I'm traveling with a group of friends, can our hotel rooms be adjoining or close together?

Please let us know if you would like to request adjoining rooms and whom you are traveling with and we will request that the hotel assigns your rooms next to each other. Although adjacent rooms will be requested, the hotels are not always able to accommodate. We will ensure your rooms are near each other if not connected.
